 Bowmans Bounty
As an archer, or bowman, legend tells us Robin Hood had few rivals. Skilful and daring he won many a contest, even as an outlaw, once in disguise under the Sheriff of Nottingham`s very nose, and in London while under amnesty from Queen Elinor and King Henry. His rewards were many, but undoubtedly few more satisfying than a flagon of his favourite brew after a gruelling contest.

Brewed in the classic India Pale Ale style, this beer is strong, hoppy and pleasantly aromatic and a perfect accompaniment to Thai, Indian, mexican and other spicy foods.

 Devout Stout
Friar Tuck was reputed to be a man of immense girth and strength who could hold his own with the men of Sherwood Forest in many physical contests. His prowess, it is thought, was due to the unique qualities of his secret dark brew, the recipe for which he obtained from an European monastery where monks were renowned brewmasters in medieval times. Undoubtedly his beer was unique and the secret recipe was lost with his passing, however, stout beers began to reappear to wide acclaim in the early 19th Century.

This is a strong, full bodied English-style imperial stout, smooth on the palate with a light hop finish. This brew is an excellent accompaniment to seafood and red meats, or on its own at the end of a meal.

 Gaolers Ale
In medieval England, gaols (jails) were invariably damp, dark and foul places where prisoners were tortured, abandoned and forgotten, or briefly incarcerated on the way to the executioner. The renowned medieval gaoler and arch-enemy of Robin Hood, the Sheriff of Nottingham, was foiled in numerous attempts to put the famous outlaw behind bars and no doubt found solace from his frustration in a flagon of strong beer.

This is a dark, amber, traditional old ale brewed with English malt and hops, robust in character with unique malty flavour. This beer is an excellent after dinner drink, superbly complementing cheese, fruit and sweet desserts or on its own as the ideal evening refreshment.

The name Gaoler`s Ale relates to the fact that The Fox and Crown, in the early 18th Century served a dual role as an inn and a gaol.

 Little Johns Myth
Legend has it that Little John was a giant standing close to seven feet in height. Some say this is a myth as in medieval times people were much smaller and a man six feet tall may then have been considered gigantic. Whatever the case, Little John was much larger than average and known not only for his strength and agility in hand-to-hand combat, but also for his capacity for prodigious quantities of strong ale.

This is a smooth flavoured robust porter with a fine balance of English malts and hops, and hints of chocolate and vanilla. It is delightful when accompanied by shellfish, meat dishes and particularly with chocolate and coffee flavoured dessert dishes.

 Maidens Magic
Maid Marian was a woman of great beauty and fiery temperament, born to privelege, who became a steadfast but clandestine ally of Robin Hood and his Merry Men. A passionate defender of equality, she could hold her own in any verbal joust with gentry and outlaws alike. She no doubt attended many festivities with Robin Hood and his clan deep in Sherwood Forest toasting victories over injustice with liberal quantities of honey mead and brown ale.

This is a smooth, lightly hopped and aromatic English-style brown ale, pleasantly malty with a hint of honey in aroma and taste.
It perfectly complements light seafood dishes, mild cheese dishes, vegetable dishes and salads.

 Scarlet Fervour
On the run from the Sheriff of Nottingham, Will Gamewell, a cousin of Robin Hood, first came to Sherwood Forest in striking scarlet attire for which he is forever known by name. Will Scarlet was robust, courageous in battle and fiercely loyal to his fellow outlaws. He enjoyed all of his pursuits, including imbibing copious quantities of beer, with gusto equalled by few.

This is a traditional English style strong bitter, amber in colour, full bodied with pronounced hop character. This beer is the perfect accompaniment to typical English pub dinners such as roast beef and yorkshire pudding and steak and kidney pie.
